Bergkamp’s M310 Recognized As 2008 Top 50 Product
December 2008
Bergkamp’s new M310 slurry seal and micro surfacing paver appears to have already made a name for itself in the industry. The M310 was recognized as one of Better Roads magazine’s 50 Top Rollouts for 2008. The magazine covers hundreds of new products each year, and then re-evaluates them to select the 50 it believes contractors should take one more look at.
“We feel the M310 is one of the most innovative pieces of equipment in the slurry seal and micro surfacing industry because it provides simple-to-use mix control, easy calibration, extensive onboard diagnostics and on-demand reports,” said Bill Cooper, Bergkamp’s Director of Sales & Marketing. “This ensures accurate delivery of materials in accordance with a laboratory mix design. We are excited to receive this recognition because it shows that the industry is ready for this innovative product and the benefits it will deliver to pavement preservation practitioners.”
Bergkamp’s M310 allows operators to easily calibrate the machine, monitor production rates and simplify maintenance. It uses the EMCAD (Electronic Mix Control and Diagnostic) System to display current and average material ratios, total material used and material rates. It can produce on-demand reports to track production for individual sections of the job, or the entire job, via an onboard printer. Operators can evaluate these printouts and make the necessary adjustments to more efficiently run the machine and calculate their bottom line.
Calibration is simplified, so fewer steps are required and manual calculations are eliminated. The EMCAD System ties material ratios of aggregate, asphalt emulsion, water, additive and fines together with an electronic signal and automatically maintains the ratios with feedback loops.

Bergkamp is pleased to announce that its Web site is now available in Spanish in addition to English. Visitors may access the site through two basic methods; they can either visit www.bergkampinc.com/espanol to link directly to the Spanish version, or they can visit www.bergkampinc.com and simply click on the Español link located in the top right hand corner of the home page.
“It’s very important to be able to speak directly to potential customers and make them feel comfortable,” said Bill Cooper, Director of Sales and Marketing for Bergkamp. “Web sites play an extremely important role in sales and now we can better provide our Spanish speaking customers the support they need in the early stages of the research and selling process.”
Ray Saucedo, Latin American sales representative, is solely focused on Latin America and Bergkamp’s Spanish-speaking customers, so the company can freely communicate with and better serve them. Saucedo is a native Spanish speaker and has more than 18 years of experience in the international pavement maintenance industry.
