The electric-heating system eliminates maintenance of hot oil systems and frequent refills of propane common with other patchers. The flameless pothole patcher has a hydraulic AC generator that powers the full-length, electric-heating elements. These elements produce consistent material heating throughout the hopper, eliminate hot spots and minimize potential safety problems associated with propane or heating oil. The truck-mounted unit receives power from the truck’s engine through the live PTO and can run irrespective of its RPMs or speed.

The flameless technology was introduced in 2000 and is one of the most proven methods to heat asphalt on the market. It is used daily by state, county and city agencies for pothole, utility and other minor asphalt repairs – reducing material waste.
